
Users with Office 365 and/or Office 2016 installed should already have Skype for Business available.Please note: For advising meetings and other similar purposes, Skype for Business is best used on a desktop or laptop computer and not on a mobile device such as a phone or tablet.Be sure to login with your Pitt user account information. Please note: Skype for Business is part of the Office 365 suite that students, faculty, and staff have access to via their Pitt accounts and it is different from the standard Skype app that you may have used to communicate with people outside of Pitt. You will need to use Skype for Business to meet virtually with your advisor.In certain situations, when students are not available to come to campus, your academic advisor may request that you meet via Skype for Business in lieu of a face-to-face appointment.To install Silverlight, see Microsoft Silverlight.

If you will be using Skype for Business Server Control Panel on this server then you must also install Silverlight. Run Windows Update again to check if there are any updates to the roles and services that were installed. When the dialog box indicates that the installation has completed, you will need to reboot the server to complete the process. If you are not connected to the Internet, you will need to manually install all relevant updates as well as any prerequisites to the required updates. It is important that you have the latest updates from Windows Update. The source files are located in the sources\sxs directory.įor example, if the Windows Server 2012 R2 media is in drive D, you would set the path to d:\sources\sxs.


If the server is not connected to the Internet, you will need to insert the Windows Server 2012 R2 media and select Specify an alternate source path in order to install the required features.

Windows Server 2012 R2 does not install all of the source files for the required features by default.
